Our Fall 2017 workshops are over! See you next year~
Are you interested in learning about gears as you test your skills in design? What if the opportunity was brought directly to you?
PiE on the Road is a traveling workshop developed by Pioneers in Engineering and hosted at local high schools to bring a new STEM experience to a high school near you.
Our workshop focuses on a hands-on exploration of gears and how we utilize them with our custom gear kit. We’ll be exploring topics such as torque, gear ratios, and designing a car to move as far possible under constraints.
We challenge high school students of all backgrounds to explore and innovate with us. Upon completing the workshop, students will be able to take their kit home to share and continue exploring.
Each workshop has a total of 30 seats available. All students are welcome to attend any workshop, but we recommend the workshop at a high school closest to you.
Students must register to attend. Should registration fill, we will place students on a waitlist in case a seat opens.
I don’t have a lot of experience. Will that make the workshop too difficult for me?
No, not at all! Our goal is to introduce basic engineering skills so we will take your experience level into consideration with the workshop. PiE staff will be mentoring students and are here to help you!
Do we have to bring anything?
If you did not provide a signature on the online registration form (coming soon), you must bring your printed and signed liability waiver.
Will transportation be provided?
No, please make your own arrangements for transportation. We recommending carpooling with classmates where possible!
Will lunch be provided?
No, please eat lunch beforehand.
